The Rev. Charlotte Noble

Charlotte Noble was ordained in the United Church of Christ in 1982, shortly after graduating from Yale Divinity School. She served as Associate Pastor, and then Co-Pastor, of First Church, Congregational (United Church of Christ) in Methuen, Massachusetts from 1982-1988. During her time in Methuen, the congregation welcomed over 200 new members and more than doubled their annual contributions.
In 1988, she joined the national staff with the Office for Church Life and Leadership (OCLL) where she worked with congregations throughout the United States on leadership development. She also provided oversight for the nationwide search and call process by which local churches and pastors find one another.
Since 2000, Charlotte has worked as in an independent consulting role with a variety of church-related organizations. Currently Charlotte is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County (http://www.adamhscc.org/) and is a strong advocate for recovery services for individuals and families impacted by addiction and/or mental health issues.
Charlotte is married to Rev. Rip Noble, who retired in 2000 from his role as General Secretary at the United Church Board for Homeland Ministries. They have two adult children, and two grandsons, Terence (age 8) and Peter (age 4). A native South Carolinian, Charlotte and her family have now made their permanent home in Lakewood. When not filling in at other churches, Charlotte and her family are active members of St. Paul’s Community Church, United Church of Christ, on Cleveland’s near west side.
